The Party after the Party

ARTICLE BY BLAIR ESQUIRE

The time vastly approaches midnight. Delvin, Jerald, Alex, and I aren’t speaking a word. The only noise coming from my room is the annoying clicking of pens or heavy chewing of gum as we countdown until the SALT blog drops. Tired from the long trip we just had to Rusans to enjoy Sake Bombs, have some sushi, and just chat about future team SALT endeavors with the SALT crew and friends, and also pained from having our thumbs hammering on our keypads all day promoting on twitter and facebook for the night’s blog launch, we are eager yet nervous to see exactly what we had gotten ourselves in to.

The clock strikes 11:59; we all type in to our phones a catchy tag line to draw people’s attention. Delvin’s tweet gets sent out first and with that… we’re launched. After the first 45 minutes we have 486 views.
All of the worrying and anxiousness was all for nothing. Alex says he sees a single tear roll down my left eye. (I severely deny that that tear ever happened.) Two hours in and we check the amount of views we have again and this time we’re nearing 700 views. At this point I can’t contain myself and neither can the rest of the SALT crew. Our heads suddenly fill with all of the places the paper can go. To think, SALT came about from a simple conversation Delvin and I had one day walking around campus and now it turned into our lifestyle. Ever night we needed to write turned in to one big party with a few articles at the end. SALT is launched now; it’s time for the party after the party.
